Stainforth have been appointed as main contractor to regenerate the former Denso Marston site on behalf of Opus North. Commencing in April 2016 the site will include a 22,000 sq ft unit for B & M Homestore, a 10,000 sq ft unit for Farmfoods and also a 20,000 sq ft Lidl supertstore.
Property firm confident after success of £90m retail deal
Apart from the two supermarkets, the portfolio consisted of a total of 86 units, including shops and offices. Overall, Opus North has subsequently completed 20 new lease and lease renewal deals.
Meanwhile, Opus North has started work at a new £8 million retail development in Armley, Leeds, which is fully let.
It is transforming the four acre derelict former DENSO Marston factory site into a retail park with occupiers Lidl, B&M Homestore and Farmfoods.
The main contractor is Shipley-based Stainforth Construction.
Andrew Duncan, said: “This was an excellent deal for all concerned. We are very proud of transforming a derelict eyesore in a prominent area of west Leeds into a first-class retail park, with household names as occupiers.
“The decision of high-profile retailers like Lidl, B&M and Farmfoods to move to our new retail park was a resounding endorsement of the development.”
Bridgewater Retail Park, Altrincham
Bridgewater Properties have appointed Stainforth to construct and redevelop 3 retail units on their site at Bridgewater Retail Park. The units will be occupied by Halfords, Bensons for Beds and Dunelm and it is anticipated that the scheme will be completed for Christmas 2016.
Retail Units, Brighouse
Gregory Properties have appointed Stainforth to construct 2 new retail units totalling 28,500 sq ft. Works commenced January 2016 and are due for completion in September 2016.
St Margarets Retail Park, Leicester
Stainforth have commenced work on new build retail units, comprising an additional 28,500 sq ft retail space within an existing park together with new service yard and external paving on behalf of LondonMetric Property plc.
Stainforth have been appointed main contractor to provide a new Netto Foodstore in Cleckeahton, West Yorkshire. Works are expected to be complete in May 2016.
Stainforth are on site undertaking the refurbishment and re-facade of existing shops on Charles Street, Bradford, adjacent to the newly constructed Broadway Shopping Centre.
Stainforth are dlighted to announce that we have now also successfully achieved the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and the OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
In relation to ISO 14001, this is an internationally recognised standard that details ways in which we seek to reduce our impact on the environment. Stainforth Construction LLP recognise the importance of environmental protection and is committed to operating our business responsibly and efficiently to reduce the impact that our activities have on the environment.
In relation to OHSAS 18001, this is an internationally recognised standard that details ways in which we seek to mitigate risks.
